Chapter 19

That afternoon, when Chloë’s managerial shift at La Vida Mocha ended, she drove home still feeling the natural high she had been on since leaving Morgan’s. Her co-workers today, Luli and Amber had noticed how energetically bubbly Chloë had been and Luli had even guessed that a new woman was the cause of it. But Chloë had offered no details, not wanting to jinx anything. Vanessa she’d talk to about Morgan; Vanessa was, after all, the wisest lesbian Chloë knew. And she’d most likely talk about Morgan to Sienna too, but that was because she and Sienna talked about everything, even other women.

I had sex with Miss Banks!

This had been the repeating thought in Chloë’s head all through her shift at the coffeeshop, so much so that when a customer asked her how she was doing today, Chloë almost said it out loud. She had gotten as far as “I had” when the editing function of her brain finally kicked in, allowing her to quickly change her sentence to “I had…a headache earlier but now it’s gone.”

Last night and this morning had been amazing experiences, not only because it was a dream come true that Chloë had gotten to fuck that particular woman, but because as it turned out, Morgan was an incredible lover. Okay, Chloë reasoned, maybe there were one or two things that needed improvement but who cares? Even at her young age, Chloë knew that sex with a new woman always meant adjustments were needed. But for a woman who had never had sex with another woman, Morgan had made fireworks go off between Chloë’s legs and starbursts to explode behind her eyelids. Not only that, but Morgan had kept up with Chloë’s appetite last night. They had fucked well past midnight, Morgan often demanding “More!” even after Chloë had coaxed yet another climax from her.

Her center started tingling now as she remembered all of this and she shook her head to clear it of thoughts of how Morgan tasted, those gorgeous breasts with their dark nipples, the sounds she made as she got close to coming…

Chloë shook her head again. She needed to focus on driving!

What Chloe didn’t know was what was going to happen between her and Morgan now?

The sexual chemistry alone was enough to make Chloë want to continue seeing Morgan but Chloë realized that she also just enjoyed being with Morgan—with clothes on. Morgan’s company made Chloë happy.

But what did Morgan want?

Chloë had no idea. In fact, she had no idea if Morgan felt her foray into lesbian sex was now over, the experiment completed, despite her assurances to the opposite this morning. Even the possibility of that being true was making Chloë sad now which in turn made her instinct for self-preservation kick in.

Chloë sucked her bottom lip between her teeth.

Perhaps it would be best if she just assumed for the time being that Morgan wouldn’t really want to have anything serious with her. After all,
